For the first time, Trillium Health Partners, through its research hub, the Institute for Better Health, will host a Canada Research Chair (CRC).
This marks a historic milestone for the hospital and community, and a powerful testament to the excellence of our scientists, care teams, and partners. It also signals Trillium Health Partners’ growing role as a national leader in advancing research that strengthens health systems and improves health at a community level.
What is a Canada Research Chair?
The Canada Research Chairs Program is one of the country’s most prestigious research initiatives, designed to attract and retain world-class researchers and to reinforce Canada’s position as a global leader in discovery and innovation.
Trillium Health Partners’ Chair will be a Tier 2 CRC, awarded to exceptional emerging scholars who are within 10 years of their doctorate. These Chairs are held by researchers with demonstrated creativity and potential to achieve international recognition, and who are positioned to train the next generation of health leaders.
Why This Matters
Hosting a CRC is a strong signal of the rapid growth of Trillium Health Partners as an academic health sciences centre. It strengthens our ability to:
