Mehdi Somji is the Director of Innovation & Partnerships at Trillium Health Partners. He is an outcome focused leader with a successful track record of leading change, health system integration, innovation, and data and analytics. In his previous role, Mehdi was the Director of Integrated Health Systems, Partnerships, Health Analytics & Family Practice at Humber River Hospital. He was responsible for leading many health system transformation initiatives including the development and implementation of the North Western Toronto Ontario Health Team, with partner organizations across multiple sectors. Most notably, Mehdi led the development and implementation of iPlan, an innovative technology that was implemented across five hospitals and home and community care, recognized as a Leading Practice by the Health Standards Organization and won the 2019 ITAC Ingenious Award. Mehdi holds a Master of Health Informatics, Masters Certificate in Health Care Leadership, and is a Certified Health Executive (CHE). In 2020, Mehdi was awarded The Robert Zed Young Health Leader Award by the Canadian College of Health Leaders, presented to a young Canadian health care leader who has demonstrated leadership in improving the effectiveness and sustainability of Canada’s health system.
